3 Weeks Volunteer & Trek


 This Volunteer and Trek package offers combined services of volunteering and trekking.  You will have an opportunity to volunteer either at a  school, community library or at the Buddhist monastery. Once you finish your volunteer placement you will  travel to Pokhara to start your trekking. While volunteering, your accommodation and meals will be arranged by a local host family or in a monastery. You will be provided a private room and 3 meals a day.

HOW DO I GET TO POKHARA FOR TREKKING ? We will arrange a tourist bus for you. It leaves in the morning (7:00 AM) and takes about 7 hours to get there. Upon arrival you will be greeted by a VCD trekking guide at the bus park and he will take you to the hotel and also brief you about trekking.

DO I NEED ANY SPECIAL TREKKING GEAR TO TREK ? –  Not really. A good runner and warm fleece should be alright. 
WHEN & WHERE I TREK ? – You will start your trekking the next morning. Your guide will come with a cab to pick you up and drive up to starting point. From there you will start your trekking. You will trek around the Annapurna region.

WHAT INCLUDES IN THE TREKKING ? – 2 nights accommodation in Pokhara, a professional trekking guide, trekking permit, TIMS permit, public transportation, 3 meals a day(breakfast, lunch and dinner), accommodation at the local tea houses, return bus to Kathmandu.

HOW DO I GET BACK TO KATHMANDU AFTER TREK? –  VCD Nepal will arrange a tourist bus to get back to Kathmandu.

YOUR ACCOMMODATION – Volunteer’s accommodation will be arranged at a local host family. They will provided a clean private room. Free WI-FI is available at some of the host families.

MEALS – You will be provided  authentic Nepali meal(dal/bhat) 2 times a day (Breakfast, lunch & Dinner) . Most family offers vegetarian  meal. Tea is served few times a day.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES  – It really depends on the job that you choose to do.

WORKING HOURS – 3 to 5 hours a day and six days a week( Saturdays are day off).

05 – 12 day:             Volunteering
13 day:                      Travel back to Kathmandu
14 day:                       Prepare and rest before trekking
15 day:                       Travel to Pokhara(accommodation in a local hotel)
16 day:                       Trekking
17 day:                       Trekking
18 day:                       Trekking and travel back to Pokhara
19 day:                       Travel back to Kathmandu
20 day:                       Rest day in Kathmandu
21 day:                       Fly back home( we will drop you off at the airport)
